My eyes don't produce the protein that degrades and dirties contact lenses, so I can and have just left them in for months at a time.

Until the contacts slip off your cornea, under your eyelid, and then get stuck behind your eye socket.

Nah, I can count on one hand how many times my contacts have slipped back and I've been wearing contacts for 15+ years. I switched brands and never had an issue. The only time I have issues is when the contact starts stretching out. They'll rotate and my vision will slide out of focus. Generally speaking a 2 week contact will last between 4-6 months of constant wear.
