I’m pretty sure the last time this meme was around someone brought up the point that not every director would be comfortable putting other races in their historically accurate “places” so often times they’ll just leave it out as to avoid backlash/feelings of unease

Which just perpetuates the problem. There were black people in England since at least the Romans were there.

Aight this is the last I’ll say since I don’t think you care to see what I’m saying. Some shows are not in a position to have poc/lgbt in a way that is not demeaning so as to avoid it they leave out the roles all together.

but most were either discriminated against and forced into poverty, or they were slaves. It is the 17th century after all.

I assume he's saying the population was so vastly white in makeup that its reasonable that no black people were visible in the movie.
