For years I've used a RainX windshield washing fluid. At speeds of 45 and up unless it's absolutely pouring I barely need to use my wipers. Also I've lived in Florida most of my life so driving in the rain/hurricanes? Not a problem. Ice though? I hate ice. I go out of my way not to drive if there's ice on the roads.

RainX is an absolute god send, I love the stuff. I find at low speeds/light rain though it makes the water create a film that is real tough to see out of, so I only use it on passenger and rear windows

My car has a rain sensor so it decides itself what speed the wipers should go. I do not like such emasculation and therefore sometimes take back the control by turning the wipers to max. I look around furtively when doing this.
