My girlfriend gets debilitating migraines due to what is known as a pseudo-tumor. This has been going on for about 9 years now. She has tried most of the major medications and found one, a shot, that is a literal wonder drug for her. Because she literally has not tried all of them for a year each, her insurance will not cover any of it.

Check with the drug company to see if they have a hardship program. Most drug companies do and depending on the company the income they consider eligible is pretty high. Like 75-100k. It takes a little paperwork but the drug company mails the scrip, 100% free to your door.
