Yea but the schools that “ride at dawn” get off way earlier than schools that start later. The study you should be quoting is the one that says teens aren’t awake until noon (or smth it’s been years). Either way you’ll still have a 7-8 hour school day and it’s up to you to get the necessary sleep
School (elementary, middle, high) were okay but my (2nd) 4th year of college hit me like a truck. I remember especially that one week where we had 2 days when we finished class at 8pm, the morning after one of them we had to be in the parking lot at 6.30am to go on a field trip. The other morning it was just a regular 8am. Skipping isn't allowed here.
We had 42.5 hours of class that week, which exceeds the maximum working time but that law doesn't apply to students so we could just suck it. If this wasn't badd enough, my commute to uni is typically 40min long but it take up to an hour, meaning the time when we finished at 8pm and had to be back at 6.30 I had 9hours to make dinner, eat, (stressfully) sleep, and be ready for the next day. We still had homework and we went grocery shopping on our little lunch breaks because it was the only time we had.
Some schools are just assbutts.
School age was literal torture for me, and the lack sleep definitely didn't help.
.
I had a bad home situation, and I was being relentlessly bullied at school. I fell from being top of my class, all the way to the bottom.
.
I planned to kill myself many times, because it was actually sending me crazy. I'd be in a state of delurium a lot. I'd do absolutely anything nowadays to never be in that state again.
.
God, I *hated* high school.
