This article reads like a movie script. The guys dad was also abused by the priest and when dad found out his son was abused he committed suicide. Then the whole crucifix thing.
I'm usually a pacifist but I don't think anyone can blame the kid here.
Ok edit: The suspect's father "only" tried to kill himself. It's his grandfather who did, still because of the priest. That's beyond sad. The father kept regularly seing the priest, even though he had abused him, because of social pressure (highly respected and "kind" man), and only stopped seing him when he had to explin his wife why he didn't want one of his sons (the suspect's brother) to go to the priest's alone. He told his own dad (aka the suspect's grandfather) who killed himself, then he tried to kill himself too. When he was alone at the psychiatric ward, guess who came to visit? Because of the situation, he forgave and kept seing him, thinking that God would judge him anyways. He didn't know what was happening between the priest and his son until after the murder.
And it turns out the religious authorities had been aware of what was going on since 1989.
