That’s... not ingenuity? The “phone” here is a purpose made 3.5mm audio mic and headset designed to look “retro” and work on smartphones and other modern devices as a novelty. You buy it ready made- see the button in the middle of the handset? An actual phone doesn’t have it- but almost all the pre bought ready made “retro” phone sets do.
Tl:dr- plugging a store bought receiver and mic into the port on a controller made to accept a store bought receiver and mic is ingenuitive I don’t know about that.... quirky? Resourceful? Perhaps yes. Inginuitive? I do not think so.

Hi Nate. I’m not sure how I am “hating.” I’m being pedantic. There is a difference. I didn’t say anything negative about the child or the parent. I didn’t insult them or call them names. I merely said that ingenuity isn’t the correct word to describe this in my opinion. I also said there are other positive words to describe this- words that are more fitting.
