Same! We had "make-believe interviews" at my college and while the guy was super friendly and we ended up having a really rich exchange, I really didn't appreciate it when he asked me wether I was an introvert or an extrovert, I said introvert, "so what measures are you taking to correct that?" I replied "well it's part of my personality so none."
Yes, totally!! However the guy was pretty open-minded, I think he just hadn't ever considered that extroversion wasn't the only way to go. So who knows, maybe I have changed his mind a bit! Anyways I'll probably see him again sooner or later as he also helps people with law-related problems for free and I have trouble with my asshat of a driving school director. Time to check then :D
I've recently started voice training so that I don't die a little inside whenever I have to speak, and it's done wonders for my sociability!
Everyone that I've spoke to has noticed that I sound happier, and speak more often.
.
Before, I wouldn't speak unless I absolutely had to. Now, I speak whenever I get the urge to.
.
Turns out that although a lot of people hate how their voice sounds, they *don't* usually want to actually stab themselves in the voice box.
I've still got a lot to work on before it's exactly how I'd like it, but it's a hell of a lot better than it was.
If it helps, there's actually an entire novel called "Quiet" that's about the importance of being introverted despite society's reverence for extroversion.
