If you can’t sleep through a bit of sunlight then you have problems bigger than shutting your curtains

In the ones I have stayed at, the gap is at least 2-4 inches

I can sleep perfectly fine in a room with the lights on, the curtains/blinds open (at anytime of day), and the police coming to interrogate my roommates or swat raid my neighbors

Well, speak for yourself then. Doesn't mean everyone who isn't able to do that like you has problems :D

right @mialinay ! I've always been a light sleeper and sensitive to light. I recently moved to a house close to a main road, and the headlights of the cars that go by at night definitely keep me up. When I complain, my husband says "close your eyes," and I go "They are closed! I can still see it!"

@changetheworld same! My apartment is also close to a bright road, I always have to sleep with a sleeping mask on

I had this problem so when I went to sleep I would put a nice coating of shoe polish on my lids. That way the light couldn’t get through. It burned like crazy but after the first few times I couldn’t see light even with my eyes open! Had to learn Braille and get a service dog but I sleep great any time of day or night.
