What if I told you that all you have to do to get “free health care” is to pay more taxes. So it be like buying a car even though you can’t drive but you think you pay for the car for if by some chances you need to drive no matter how short or far of a drive you are going to go. And till you actually need to drive you are really paying for other people’s cars.
Yeah that is pretty much “free health care”
Yeah we pay a lot but so does every country just those bills come from tax payers. We prefer to not pay as you go but pay when needed. So that is what America does yeah it can suck but no new tax’s is what kills us.
But... pay as you go is literally what health insurance is. As is paying for other people’s healthcare. It’s the same concept, just with a profit margin stuck in.
But with health care insurance you get to shop around and get what you feel you need to pay. And not everyone NEEDS brain surgery. Some people live a good healthy life not needing anything till old age and there it is just arthritis and a bad back. Than goes to sleep never to wake one day. My Uncle Jr. never had a thing wrong with him except arthritis from years of working with his hands and one day he just didn’t wake up.
But yet my mom had cancer run throughout her body in a year she was gone. And she fought hard. If we had “free health care” they would of paid the same amount my mom yes would technically be under paying which is great but my uncle would of extremely over paid. But because of our system he only paid minimum and thanks to supports like widows of fireman police officers and navy my mom had to pay hardly anything just for a few meds which he insurance helped as well.
Look it’s not the perfect system true but guess what there is No such thing as a free meal.
I helped design and build some of the first modern healthcare insurance software. That means I had to learn exactly how the entire flow of money goes between providers, facilities, insurance companies, re-pricers, agencies, etc. I can tell you that there is no possible way single-payer (“free”) model doesn’t drive down costs for everyone. You may not like the increased taxes and maybe you don’t agree with the idea of big government but from a cold-blooded financial standpoint it is an absolute no-brainer.
Even though we're paying more taxes, many European countries have an equal or even higher living standard than the US.
Furtherly, none of the arguments defeating the severe lacks in healthcare, sick days, paid maternity leave, vacation and any other option based on solidarity are taking into account that all of that works in all developed countries and so even in countries way poorer than the US.
