For example, a Jewish lawyer would still have to defend a Nazi. An environmentalist would have to defend a big corporation from consequences surrounding an oil spill. There aren't many ways somebody can get out of it, not in NZ at least. Having too much work already, the client not being able to pay, a conflict of interest, and the area of work not being your specialty are the only 4 iirc.
I was reading the other day and supposedly people in same sex relationships are more likely to suffer domestic abuse from their partners, so if this is accurate, they will likely require a decent amount of mental and physical help, and if you're going to be a doctor it's important to remember:

You're not there to AGREE with the person, and no one gives a fuck if you do. Mickey Mouse may well be your idol, while the person in a car wreck they just wheeled in hates him with a burning passion that consumes their soul. Congrats. Slap a bandage on that person anyway.

You're there to provide medical help. If you're prepared to turn someone away because you don't like who they've rubbed their genitals up against, you have MUCH bigger fish to fry than lbtq. Pedophiles come to mind.
About as stupid as the rednecks that refused to have a black nurse/dr . Who cares what someone looks like when you're having a baby (heart attack , stroke whatever) as long as they're competent .
Nope. This is pretty universal. My mom shared a very similar story about a classmate asking about treating violent criminals. Those professors don’t mess around.
I guess I don’t understand what you’re saying.
I thought you were saying that the number of students who made it through the med program would decline because they are instructed they must treat all patients. With that in mind, I related that the insistence has been standard for decades and doesn’t seem to have made a significant impact on number of med students (although other factors have).
So, where did I misunderstand your meaning?
Many people don't want to become doctors because they are disgusted/uncomfortable with certain patients. People will choose to quit and get another career.
Only from bigots and those looking for reasons to discriminate. The Hippocratic oath requires that doctors never do harm. That includes avoiding treating a patient because of whatever -ism you may subscribe to
