No, this is not 100% true. Just because you love your company doesn't mean you're suddenly unable to see if they begin treating you poorly. Family is of the upmost importance but you can find a lot of purpose and joy in your professional life. But you're probably not going to if you view all employers as machines and never allow yourself to become a meaningful part of a company.

DO make it a habit to leave on time, DON'T be afraid to stay late if there is something important to be done. It's the same with your family, you leave them to go to work but aren't afraid to call in to work if there is an emergency that needs your attention.

Agreed on both counts. If you never loved anything that could stop “loving you” back or mistreat you- you’d basically never love at all. You can love your job. You can love your company. Even loving another human is not just a risk- but it is a balance. All people have flaws. When we love- we take the good with the bad. We can even love those who it isn’t healthy to be in a relationship with- but that’s the key. If the relationship isn’t healthy for you, if it isn’t balanced for you- balance it if it’s worth it and can be- or get out of it.
