Because I'm a sociable person who is ultimately loyal to mine. It's useful to know what people think and say about us and ours, so I do what is practical to hear these things, so that we are that much more aware and better prepared.
I get what it is saying.
That if you were truly loyal to some one than others would know not to bad mouth that person around or to you.
Because only a fool will say shit about a person to a person who is truly loyal to that person.
But the problem is majority of people are loud mouth idiots. Lol they will say shit about even their own mother to their father.
Now a truly loyal person would stick up for the person. They disprove as much gossip as possible. If they can’t disprove something they give a reason to why the person did it.
That is loyalty.
I would be more worried about a “friend” that would just sit there and not say anything.
It can be quite invaluable to sit back and just let people talk. People will often reveal their true intentions if you just give them the chance to do so. Jumping to someone's defence may prove your loyalty, but considering we're talking about the mob, it would be far better to have someone out themselves as having ill-intentions early on.
.
Then you can prove your loyalty by getting rid of the disloyal person before they have a chance to harm whoever you're loyal to
I’ll answer your question with a question- why am I telling you? I’m a smart guy. You’re probably smarter. But being a smart guy- I must have known coming to you with this you would ask me, wonder this same thing. But loyalty- loyalty isn’t about everyone knowing I’m loyal to you. Loyalty is me always being loyal to you. So here I am- face to face with a man who could make me disappear just because he felt like it- telling him something he surely won’t like hearing- and what benefit is that to me? I’m taking myself to tell you this- for you, not for me. So you know one thing- you know that mine is the loyalty that will put your well being ahead of mine.
Mine is the loyalty that of all the people in that room- I am the one sitting here today telling you this. Don’t ask why he felt comfortable telling me this- ask why I am the person who you are hearing it from. And if you want to imply that I am out speaking badly of you- ask why none of the people who have heard that have come to you like this? My company may be questionable, but my loyalty is not.
