Hi, navy here. Worked with a guy who damn near started working as a stripper for side cash. The only thing that turned him away was that he'd have to dance for dudes.
Tell him that he should just time it for a town hosting the Superbowl and it'll only need be for two weeks.
If he's absolute about it, that's fine... it's his decision; just sharing wisdom over here.
You do have to be careful though- regardless of wether or not you are dancing for the preferred clientele. Most service contracts stipulate that a job outside the military requires clearance from your CO. In the current military culture it is possible but unlikely a CO would give on record consent for any sort of “adult” work- and “off record” consent can but you. The UCMJ also has a few catch alls that could be used including article 134- to argue conduct prejudicial to good order and discipline, bringing discredit upon the service. Making adult content or participating in adult entertainment will very likely get you booted- and at the very least would likely end your career.
In historical precedent- even the public release of private photos shared with a specific person without authorization to distribute them has caused the end of military careers. The military tends to be oriented on procedures and results. Follow procedures but get poor results? On you. Don’t follow procedures but get good results? Still likely trouble for you. There are seldom “accidents” “flukes” or “bad luck” in the military when it comes to personal accountability. There is what happened- and who gets the blame or credit. You give up certain rights when you enter the service- the military has final call and civilian laws and legal process do not apply. If the military feels you look foolish- it will generally feel you e made the military look foolish.
You lost me at clearance from the CO. you have to understand this simple fact, nobody puts in paperwork for any of that long of stuff unless they have a literal gun to their head. You used to have to put in paperwork for tattoos so we just got them under our shirts until they changed the rule a few years ago.
lol. I’m old. A lot has changed. No one has ever liked doing paper work- So maybe things are different now- hell, guys can have phones now. But- at least by the book as far as I know- moonlighting required approval from a commanding officer. Guys have always done things off the book- and depending on who you were dealing with (a realist NCO, some shake and bake JR. officer, etc-) there were things guys- or some guys- could get away with with discretion. The problem classically- that if discretion was broken- something usually has to be done wether “by the book” or informally depending on circumstances. They got Joe Schmidt on failure to get authorization from a CO as one of the items of investigation. He was on his way to retire and a decorated SEAL- which likely had some gravity that some E1, E2 wouldn’t have. But if it was quiet enough and not enough people knew- you might just get a reprimand and some unpleasant duties and have the thing forgotten.
This is a very ignorant post.
People become what they want to become. Hoping the army isn’t bad? You put your life up for the country they have tons of bravery
Strippers get a bad wrap cause they are grouped with sex work which everyone would choose as an occupation if they had that confidence. Having negative connotation about people’s choice of work is really just a reflection on your boring life.
