My friend's cat was obsessed with chomping on Christmas light wires, for years. I don't know how many times we yelled at that kitty to stop chewing on the electric lines but she'd always come right back to it.
,
Until, one day, the string of lights dimmed down while she was in mid-bite and she let it a gigantic MROWL and skittered out of the living room. She was okay, but she never chewed cords again.
Shortly after we'd gotten one of my cats she got in the habit of occasionally playing with chords. She didn't do it often and we always stopped her and tried to keep chords tucked away. One day she managed to get at one that was beside a dresser (idk how). No one realized until she suddenly let out this horrific screech and then people rushed to where it came from and discovered she had somehow gotten the chord wrapped around her neck and was almost hanging herself with it somehow.
.
We got it off of her, and she was fine (thought the whole ordeal was horrifying). She never played with chords again either
