The guy has made a whole thread dedicated to proving men leaning means they're weak and it's a turn off for women. I love these nuggets of fucked up sexist wisdom and this one is a fine addition to my collection.
Lol. I do not disagree that this persons conclusion on leaning makes people weak, or is a sign of weakness- is horse shit; and I do not disagree that overall this person seems like a real freaking piece of work- I DO have to say that body language is a huge part of perception. Many companies interviewing new hires- the popular wisdom is 90% of an interview is body language and presentation. Reading subtle cues.
Many studies have shown all sorts of interesting reactions to various seemingly silly aspects of body language, actions etc. It’s all very subtle, so I can’t discount their theory that men leaning has a negative impact on the perception of that man- but I’d need to see some more formal and reviewed study than “because... something something.... center of the universe...”
Yeah I'm on board with body language and weird perception tricks and bias but this one in particular seems to be bullshit, especially because it comes with a whole argumentation based on the premise that women are honored to be part of a man's world whereas men don't need a women's world because they have their own so they don't have to enter women's space. I mean as long as it promotes not invading personal space that's cool I guess but that was really wonderful to read the whole thread. It's on cheezburger if you're interested.
