Lol, thanks for thinking of me. There are lots of treatments still going that have cops dehumanize the recovering offender by telling them they're worthless and the only good use for them would be target practice and telling them to kill themselves.
,
Not shockingly, recidivism rates in those "treatment programs" are higher than any other treatments.
,
Treated like people and given actual, meaningful second chances, offenders rarely reoffend.
Yeah, it's a strange thought process to go "okay, fish posts are 13579a, happy_frog is frogs, catfluff is cats... oh! Pedophiles! Better tag in jasonmon!" >_> at least you understand the reasoning lol
Understandable, @purplepumkin. I got thrown in to a wild situation that still sucks. But the upshot is I have a real chance at helping people avoid the terrible mindsets that can lead to eventually programming themselves to victimize someone.

Unfortunately, things like pedophilia and other phychoses or psycopathies need more help, but 70% of sexual assaults come from someone being either too lonely or too angry and not knowing how to deal with it. Those people, I can maybe divert in to something a lot less destructive for themselves and their would-be victims. It's just not a very popular tack; it involves reaching out to certain people as if they're, you know...people.

@xvarnah had input for me in the past, when I first started putting the ideas together. That's why I come up in posts like this haha
Oh ok I understand now. Sorry. I read a book where the author advocated getting help for people who have these urges before they act on them and destroy lives around them, that looks like a noble but also scary path. You have a lot of guts.
The book was called "Rudy the werewolf and his girlfriend". However, it was in French. I don't remember the name of the author but I still have the pdf somewhere so if you can read French I'll send it to you.
