I like the idea of humans being compatible with orcs and elves (half-orcs, half-elves), but not because of biological compatibility, but because one chaos being looked at another chaos being and said "You know what'd really piss off and confuse those jerkass gods?".

One bit of lore I played around with why humans are able to copulate with so many other different races is because a freak accident blew through at all the refuse the gods had tossed aside when making their chosen races and the result ended up being able to interbreed with everything else since it has a little bit of everything else tied into it at it's core.

I had to take a long hard look at "blood typing machine" before I understood it was not in fact a typing machine that uses blood for ink.
