Every little town has it’s one claim to fame or so they think and they run it into the ground lol
My hometown is Gonzales Texas and theirs is they are where the first shot of Texas independence was.
All because the Mexican army gave the settlers of Gonzales a small cannon which was about the size of a elephant gun so they could defend themselves from Apaches.
Than the Mexican Army was going to invade Texas and try to take it back before it became a state and Gonzales stood at the Guadalupe River that runs by the edge of town and said you want it come and take it. Than some teens went and buried the canon and forgot where it was till some old farmer found it while fishing in the 50’s lol.
This is what escalated into the Alamo battle.
So the whole freaking town is coated with pictures of a canon which is larger than the real one and a flag that says come and take it.
They claim people come from other countries to the yearly fair. I think they were just passing thru lol
