It is a myth that they both sleep standing up.
The problem is people think the only time a horse sleeps laying down is if it’s sick or hurt or dying but truth is a lot prefer to sleep laying down.
I remember when I took a riding class, this one poney used to lay in the middle of everything, his legs folded under him like a cat's, to nap. That's why I got hella confused when someone told me horses sleep standing up.
