I think the big difference is how often you use heat or dyes on your hair.

Men with Long hair also seem to tend to wash it less in general which is usually healthier for the scalp

that's true, i used to have long hair, like to my waist long, natural oils in the hair keep it healthy. now it's shorter, washed daily, and losing it's colour
