Bengali is an Indian language, and the Bengali script is an Indian script. There are many other Indian languages, with their owns scripts, the most commonly spoken of which is Hindi, but nevertheless Bengali is definitely an Indian language too
They are two different countries, so you cannot call this an Indian show. It is Indo-Aryan, not Indian. They neither sound nor look the same, Indian languages and Bengali use different alphabet systems. It is the same if you call a Pakistani show Indian, which is wrong. Bengali is NOT an Indian language.
Um, we Indians do include Bengali in the official list of languages. Bengali also originated from Devnagari, the script used for writing Sanskrit/Hindi. So yeah, definitely an Indian language. The language in Bangladesh is called Bangla, it has some differences in writing and wordings.
Yes official list of languages, but it doesn't mean it counts as an Indian language. French and German are official languages of Switzerland and Belgium, but they aren't classed in the same language family. Bengali did not originate from Devnagari, but yes it did from a Brahmic script. 'some differences in writing and wordings'. No, more like a lot because I barely understand anything at a from any Indian languages. E.g. Hindi is much more closely related to Urdu
Along with other Eastern Indo-Aryan languages, Bengali evolved circa 1000–1200 CE from Sanskrit and Magadhi Prakrit. Source - Wikipedia
As a person who has lived for 4 years in Bangladesh and 20 in India, I can safely say that Bengali & 'Bangla' (language in Bangladesh) are different indeed, but very, very closely linked.
Also, I didn't get your last point? What does you not understanding Indian languages have to do with anything? (No offence, I'm genuinely confused)
Because you said Bengali and Indian languages have 'Some' differences. I was confuting you because I understand Benglai but if someone spoke Hindi to me I would barely understand anything
