I've honestly never been scared of the geese, but I never really had a bad encounter with one.
.
When I was younger we went to some place that had a bunch of geese to feed them bread (yes, I know, evil, we didn't know at the time) and some of the other kids were scared of them, but I just chased them out of the way (the geese, not the kids).
.
If you're not near their nests a goose has never given me a reason to be concerned about it lol
I've never been afraid of geese personally. I just always saw them as larger ducks, nothing more. Hell I never even thought chickens to be mean until middle school where I met the village Rooster at Kings Landing (different from GOT). Now THAT was an aggressive bird
I don’t know if it works on geese, but chickens will back down pretty quickly if you try to grab them. Attacks make them aggressive but they seem to loose their spine when faced with hands that grab.
Well I learned that crows are less inclined to complete a swoop if you clap at them, so making a loud noise may well work for people who are afraid of geese/chickens too (and I don't think screaming shrilly counts :P).
.
I'm not afraid of chickens, I just didn't like them haha. Also I'm concerned what happens if the chicken doesn't run away, as I'll then be holding an unhappy chicken and have no plan

I don't like ostriches either, but I don't fear them, they're just douchebags
