I always adored her.
Annie Oakley is an amazing bit of history to learn about.
She actually won several medals and was only 8 yrs old when she first shot a gun she used it to kill a squirrel for food.
Her mom told her she never touch that gun again but 8 months later she gave her the gun.
You know sitting bull even adopted her as his own.
He adored her and they were close for the rest of their lives.
She was also only 5 ft tall. She was tiny it’s why sitting bull named her little sure shot
She even SUED the newspapers for saying she had a drug addiction and she WON they had to pay 260000 Dollars back than and now that be about 7,683,555 dollars so a pretty good amount of money lol.
THIS is what a feminist should be. PROVE your as good or better than any man, don't go screeching about how more women should be allowed in stem fields or other supposed "mens only clubs"
You she didn’t count her self as a feminist she counted her self as a equalist.
She believe proper pay for hard work.
No matter the sex.
When asked about women getting to vote she said everyone deserves the right to choose their next leader.
That's what being a feminist is by definition, whether you a put a label on it or not. People tend to forget what feminism and how it started out, men and women alike. Also it's said that she was a vocal woman's rights activist. She was a feminist.
.
Also it's not necessary that this should be the only example of feminism. A movement changes as times change. The status quo of the movement back then was to get voting rights to women, the status quo today is to help women reach fields that they haven't been allowed in, the status quo is also to get basic education to women, a right to choose what they do with their bodies, etc. in developed and undeveloped countries alike.
.
A few outliers, while what they do doesn't seem wrong to them, but with polarising subjects it gives the other side a way to twist stuff around in order to maintain their point.
I meant fields where women haven't been traditionally allowed. And I meant all of those issues. Some apply to underdeveloped countries and some to developed and some to all. It refers more to the era rather than countries.
.
I think I was pretty clear with that. But this is what I meant.
I wasn't sure what you meant so I figured I'd ask for clarification and elaboration on the part I didn't understand rather than assume your opinion for you
