Individual states are not "The US". And the 2010 one was just edited for classified information, with consent and cooperation of the author and publisher.
Not at all. The US doesn't ban books.
Operation Dark Heart was not an ideological piece. It was just edited (again, with consent and cooperation), to maintain OPSEC and preserve the lives and cover allied Afghanis.
And aside from that, San Francisco, or Boston, or any other city or state, is not "The US". What provision even is there to punish possession of the books in question? None on the US level. And good luck trying to prosecute it any lower without getting overturned and slapped down.
