FIRST
It's been found in Varnhem monastery, Sweden, dated between 1250 and 1527. The man survived, new bone has been formed after the procedure.

Copper poisoning would've killed them though.

I did think of corrosion and copper poisoning, but at least it wasn't quick enough to kill them right away, compared to the blood loss the fracture could have occasioned.
But sadly I did not find further info on this.
