Yeah printers can suck but have you ever had a really slow computer?

IKR? My wife has an old, super slow Lenovo Pad with 1 GB ROM and an ancient processor, probably powered by a tiny dinosaur. She's insisting how it's "fine" for what she seeds it for (Audible, podcasts, messenger) but just watching her using it, or rather waiting for it to react on the touch she made minutes ago (no shit, this is what's going on while she's occasionally sighing "oh dear.. oh well...") makes me want to primal-scream and break stuff... I hope she has it properly synchronized with her google account cause I'm afraid it won't take long for it to have an unfortunate accident so there will have to be a replacement. Which of course I will set up for her and the family budget will pay for.

Yup yup, that's EXACTLY how my PC acted before it died and I had to get a new motherboard and CPU. Literally took minutes to react to a click, with only one browser tab opened. I was only lucky I had my tablet with school files synced with Google Drive, otherwise I wouldn't be able to turn in assignments. So on the flip side, chances are you won't even have to stage an "accident", it will probably soon die on its own. That said old Lenovos have surprisingly good endurance so who knows.

Yea, Lenovo is great that way and that is the exact problem. It's not broken, it's just a 2016/17 model. Which is the equivalent to a 1993 Toyota Hatchback. And as it's as robust as a 90's Toyota, the "accident" may have to be arranged for by some ruthless villain.

Lenovo was selling PCs in 2016 with only 1GB of ram? What the actual fuck?

Oh, I got you. You could give her a nice one as a birthday gift or something, people will gladly accept things as gifts they wouldn't normally buy for themselves. Makes you look like a hero too
