Lol, it's all good. The tags crack me up. And, the guy is actually not entirely wrong. 1 out of 20 offenders should be on a police registry. But publicly and permanently shaming someone (far above and beyond any other type of offense) will all but guarantee they will be pushed to the fringes of society and fall back on maladaptive coping mechanisms, which, when it's a rapist, isn't great. The states like Florida and Ohio with the most stringent laws tend to have higher rates of sexual assault be repeat offenders. States like Oregon who do treatment and reintegration programs have 4x fewer repeat offenders. Even in Oregon, it's unbelievable how destructive an SO registration is in someone's life, after they've done their time and gone through parole and counseling. Don't get me wrong: I am all for punishing horrific crimes like these. I am all for getting people help they need. But holy crap, how long does someone with a 0% chance of reoffending need to be punished daily?

What a dope... apparently the sex offender registration screenshot is legit, current pic is from after the tweets date, dob makes sense, it all checks out. He's been convicted in 2006 for "seducing a minor using interstate communication" so basically cybergrooming. So he's probably not a novice to the internet. I would expect he'd be aware how easily people could track him down by just entering his name into the nsopw.gov page, which by reflex, everybody would do first after reading his tweet. That's not all: if you just google his name, you'll find an infamous former british radio presenter by the same name who's even got his own wikipedia page, listing up various convictions for all sorts of heinous sex crimes against children. How fncking oblivious and ignorant can one single person be to introduce themselves to the public with that sort of tweet?
