This is no doubt a question that has haunted mankind since the dawn of...catkind. And many of you have certainly spent sleepless night wondering.
Well, according to "Biological Exuberance: Animal Homosexuality and Natural Diversity" by Bruce Bagemihl, homosexual behavior is observed in nearly all species of animals (even frogs and no, it's not due to any chemicals in the water). Now, the question of whether cats are gay as humans perceive this orientation might require further investigating.
What is certain though is that some owners may and do abandon their cats (or worse) if they witness them acting this way. I don't see why, it's not like there's gonna be any unwanted pregnancies as a result.
Remember, a pet is for life. If you can't handle them getting old, or getting it on with another pet of the same sex, then don't get a pet.
@thatguyyouknow I guess your vet was wrong. Should have let your male cat fuck the other male cat. How unprogressive of you.

Or maybe this take is full of multiple holes, and has the potential to actually result in owners letting their pets engage in situations that can actually be insanely harmful to them because they don't wanna stop the pet pride parade.
I understand the need to assert dominance is normal. Of course, it's common sense not to allow your pets to hurt one another. I didn't think that needed to be mentioned. The point of my first comment was to disavow abandoning one's pets for stupid reasons.
I'm guessing you found a reasonable solution to this, right?
We can agree - Abandoning your cats for stupid reasons shouldn't need to be said. But you also posted this offering no insight into what you are classifying as "homosexual" behavior in animals -- cats specifically. I can't think of many behaviors cats engage in that could be classified as relating to sexual preference outside of mating, but maybe you know some. If not, than a cat trying to mate with a cat of the same gender is often NOT an innocent "I love you because I'm gay" situation. It usually means there's something else going on - which can be absolutely detrimental to the health and happiness of one or both animals.
So - again - abandoning your pets for stupid reasons is absolutely wrong and people who are willing to do so should likely not be allowed to own animals in the first place.
.
However, teaching people to misclassify or, worse, to not question what is, by and large, abnormal behaviors in their animals, is downright dangerous. The variation between behaviors in animal species is astronomical. What is good for the goose is not necessarily good for the ring tailed lemur.

A fish disappearing under the water for extended period of time has much different potential connotations than a Bird doing that same thing.
Oh, I don't blame you. And I don't know what she wrote, since she requested that I no longer read her comments.
But I am curious about what you did with your cats.
Lmao fingers in the ears and screaming. Chemicals in the water may not be making the frogs gay, but God DAMN if they aren't making them hypersensitive and childish. And a liar to boot :P
Lawl maybe a sweater? Looks like it's snowing in the funsub chats again

They can't read what I'm saying remember :P especially when it is based in facts and doesn't prop up their narrative
Well idk, amphibians are cold blooded and apparently I'm living rent free in this one's head, so you do what you gotta do to stay warm, man
.
Just don't feed them to your cats. I know some humans are vegetarian, and cats sometimes eat grass, but that doesn't mean they should be fed jalapenos
It's too late. It's been declared by a person on the internet who got offended so it must be true. The slang word to dehumanize and make it acceptable to attack you for unrelated offenses such as existing is already in the works I'm afraid
That's fine. Just know that anytime you breathe people will be waiting. They've already contacted your boss and the bosses of all your family members and any bosses you may have in the future
