Ahem. Snakes actually do have "legs"; especially females. It's how you tell, so there is still the structure of a spine, arms, hips, legs, and the same spine from the head going into a tail. The first snakes burrowed; so they didn't have use for the arms or legs. You can actually still see this in a few lizard species; specifically species that want to stay underground. I guess they found mice tasty and avoiding the heat was a bonus; whatever it was they really liked it; since it continually adapts throughout generations.
