The south west of Sweden, town called Gothenburg. We're on the coast so more rainy than snowy this time of year. This photo is just 20 minutes walk from where I live, Gothenburg is about 60-70% forest depending on who you ask. If I take the bus for an hour I can get to big trails that go all the way up to Norway through uninhabited forests. I've gone about halfway on Bohusleden in sections and I'm starting again next month.
Looks beautiful there.
I love the woods. And whenever I try to decide which woods I love best, i see some other woods and remember I just love them all.
That's easy. My favourite woods is the one with less people in it. I got into hiking because it's a good way to be alone, I got into bushcraft because I needed something to do while I was away from people.
You look happy and so does the fire. I do most of my hiking in Östergötland. I don't know much about bushcraft but it interests me. Let me know if you're ever in the area and want to meet up :-)
Yes! We have a place where we’ve been building sort of semi permanent camp. It’s a perfect spot near the top of a rise, overlooking a lake, surrounded by Laurel (evergreen). In the summer it has blueberries. Enough nearby trees for hammocks but not so many to prevent a good fire pit. It’s a lot of fun, and enough of a hike to be away from the world but not so far that you can’t make a day trip.
