She actually lived in Switzerland most of her life, the whole thing is a little complicated. But the short of it is she's really really vocal about being vegan and wants the locals to change how they handle cows, which, what she wants actually isn't all that unreasonable. But no one likes it when someone tells you your traditions are wrong, even if they hurt animals in ways that aren't needed.

Swiss citizenship is awarded in tiers with the highest tier requiring federal authority. Each their must generally be completed in order lowest you highest. An uncommon aspect of Swiss citizenship application is the interviewing of your peers- neighbors, coworkers and the like. If you don’t “get along” or “fit in” with the people around you, you can be denied citizenship. This is one way Switzerland differs fundamentally from many countries it’s policies or statistics are often compared to- in essence citizens are “cherry picked” to avoid getting people who would likely cause problems or radical shifts in society. I’m not criticizing or condoning- merely explaining for those unaware. It is also relatively easy for immigrants to lose Swiss citizenship if they become problematic down the line. By not having to deal with problems relating to people too far outside the social norms it is easier to maintain relative domestic stability.
