advanced brains, iin our timeline of evolution are actually really fucking weird. It's like there was a moment when, as a species we said fuck the body, evolve the mind... and used neuro connections to do so. Bacon is too salty for that; it was aliens.
My brain has multiple chunks of fat, called cavernous angiomas. Many people have One or two that are in the middle of the tissue and don't hurt anything. One of mine is close to a large blood vessel. The chunk will short circuit and cause the electric system to overload and cause a seizure. My medicine lowers the electric overload keeping the entire system from shutting down and resetting.
Brains man ...
It’s absolutely wild- a single misplaced (tiny) chunk of fat or a slightly abnormal blood vessel or one odd connection can have these pretty profound effects- and yet there are people who literally posses half a brain or entire missing lobes or major structures and have little or no seeming consequences- their cognition and senses and ability to function on high levels not even effected. It’s like the brain is both like a B17 Flying Fortress that can fly on one engine with half the plane missing AND a supersonic jet that could fall from the sky at any moment if a single fin is sheered or a loose wire shorts something. It’s amazing how robust and simultaneously finicky or fragile the brain can be.
That is an amazing analogy, or anal orgy, w/e. But the brain has almost superhuman abilities to rewire itself to keep itself working... almost like it's thinking... oof.
edit: not an insult, just making jokes cuz my brain told me too.
Sometimes my brain decides that everything is a danger and causes me to panic and become anxious even when I'm just watching cartoons. Plus it needs artifical serotonin which it's supposed to make itself but fails to make enough. It's such a complex thing the brain. Which apparently named itself if you want to get technical.
