I still don't. Looks like a phone or iPod connected to the cord. Most likely earbuds are laid across the base of the fan. Nothing else is near the cord except whatever is behind the pillow but it's too dark to tell. A book perhaps?

Okay, thanks. I was looking at that spot but thought it was just shadows and grain. Now that I know what to look for, I can see it.
