During WWII, there were several Canadian regiments that kicked serious ass, took terrible losses and dealt out much more than they got. Canada got one of the D-Day beaches, while the US and England got two each. Far from insignificant.

May I also suggest that the existence of Canada prevents the US from just absorbing the arctic circle and building in the Canadian shield forests thereby moving cities further north and denying climate change because "New Tennessee was fuckin' COLD today. "

Its not like Canada has any particular desire not to build up there, its just too desolate to bother. We also have our share of climate skeptics, we're really not all that different from the States in that regard.

Canada is where all the spectrum people WANT to build. Quiet, isolated, pretty outside, quiet, far removed from people, what people are there are super nice & considerate. Snow bound for months at a time, isolated...
