Um, don't want to be rude, but you can't just say women are better drivers. It's just saying something like Women are better cooks and Men are better in politics. A man can be just as good as a woman and vice-versa
Well....am I wrong? Car insurance for women isn't cheaper than it is for men? (There's a reason it is that way. Statistically speaking, women are better drivers.)
Don't really mean to write a book here, but i think some may find this interesting, so I am just going to say it. I work at a place where we guide cars into bays (almost exactly like going to a mechanic and driving over the big hole so they can have better access to the underside of your car) and I have actually taken notes of when people have trouble driving in, and the amount of women that have trouble doing it, as opposed to the amount of men that have trouble doing it, is astonishing. For every 1 male driver that has trouble doing it, at least 10 female drivers have trouble. I am not being sexist or mean or rude, but I decided to do a little miniature study and that is what I came up with. Respond as you wish! :)
Just want to clarify on the insurance thing. Insurance premiums for men (especially young men) are higher because the cost of damage when it occurs is often higher for men due to driving faster (e.g. into a wall). These high speed accidents don't happen as often, but because they cost more for the insurance companies, the drivers are charged more. With female drivers however, lower speed accidents often result in less damage (e.g. smashed wing mirror, scratched door, broken tail light etc) and therefore cost less to repair. On top of that, most car insurance contracts have a clause that states the driver must pay the first £500 (for example) towards repairs and so many times the insurance company doesn't have to cough up anything. This is especially pertinent for women drivers since although they have significantly more accidents by number than men, the damage caused often falls within £500 and so the insurance company doesn't have to worry and therefore can charge women less.
In total, women drivers pay more than men for car repairs out of their own pocket over the course of a lifetime. In conclusion I would argue that it is women who are the worst drivers. Ever heard of a female formula one driver, or rally driver, or nascar driver winning a race. No, me neither.
I know this sounds bitchy, but I hate the stereotype that women are bad drivers. I mean, I've been in the company of MANY bad drivers who are men, just as I have driven with many awful drivers who were women. A lot of times it depends on the person.
