They all died. You can tell because when he is pouring it some ants get out by crawling through the walls of their destroyed home... Poor ants :(

It doesn't look like there were any ants in the hill. And genocide is not the right term. Genocide is the killing off of a certain race or group of people and can be quite offensive to some. I think a better word to use would be extermination :)
