Put like that... yeah, you do have a point.
However, I see this having great use in space exploration. It could cut down on space and weight even more.
From what I've seen and heard, it uses much of the same technology as the US military's MREs, with some adaptations for microgravity.

We have one at school except it only prints one color at a time and isn't very like detailed... so it would take me a long time to design and print something like this but maybe I will when I take the class where we do this
