Climate change. Global warming upsets the flow of ocean currents, resulting in more extreme weather, as well as changes in regular weather patterns, that happen faster than climate change over the past thousands and millions of years. For some areas, the weather changes to be warmer and warmer. For others, the result is colder and colder.
Depends on how big it is, sometimes both. They're always a seismic event, but the big ones have a serious impact on the weather... even at the global scale.
If a big enough volcano erupted and the ash cloud covered a lot of land the temperatures under the ash cloud will significantly lower. (Not sure if it's right or not)
Yes, a massive eruption of a volcano could slow climate change, but it is a short term "fix" for a problem that has further reaching consequences and even more deeply rooted causes.
Global warming is definitely a measurable, real thing, but not necessarily for the reasons you provided necessarily. Watch Cosmos, it's on Netflix. It explains the chemical shit going on in the atmosphere that causes global warming.
Just a side note, but anyone who STILL denies Global Warming in this day and age, despire the enormous mount of evidence supporting it...is an idiot. No apologies and no regrets for saying that.
It's definitely not that cold in England this winter and hasn't been for a few years, this picture is old. Not saying global warming doesn't exist, just stating a different fact
Think of global warming like dropping a hot rock into a bowl of water. The water at the edges of the bowl are going to fluctuate for a while - rising and falling - until it calms and achieves a new state of equilibrium. That we are seeing odd weather means the climates are fluctuating and adjusting to the new equilibrium. That equilibrium will be, overall, warmer.
Well, climate change is considered to be a real thing. By 97% of scientists who study a wide array of earth sciences. It is really happening. It appears to be man's fault. The effect of it will be considered harmful, to low-lying areas, farmers everywhere, etc. The list goes on and on.
Wow.
