And the clincher, guess who gets the ticket in this scenario...that's right the guy that got cut off and had all his stopping distance hogged up.

This fucking happened to me today. Im driving along and this Tahoe decides, "hm i'm going to merge NOW", following right after that the vehicle comes to a complete stop, about 5 feet ahead of me luckily for the Tahoe the car is gigantic. sadly for me though the trailer hitch gets smashed into the grill and hood of my car. There was no damage on the Tahoe and about $500 of damage to my car. on top of that after we pull off the road to get each others info, this person gets out of the car looks at their car than at mine, and says sorry. get this though, this fucking person leaves, this person says sorry and leaves.

How about if they put their turn signal on you let them in and not be an asshole, so they wouldn't have to do that? Just sayin'...

Except most people who do that don't use their turn signal anyways.

I live in Chicago, the traffic is terrible. I use turn signals everytime. If you are not going to let me, "If I fits, I sits".

people who are down voting you aren't old enough to drive yet. If there is space, and you put your turn signal on.. YOU LET THEM IN

Driver for a few years now and no, just no. Turning on your signal is not a magic pass to go wherever you want on the road. It is your responsibility to make sure there is space when you change lanes, it is not everyone else's responsibility to make room for you.

did you completely skip over the part where I said "if there is space"?

If there's enough space for them to get in than you aren't "letting them in" are you?

if you've been driving for a few years now then you should know it's common courtesy to slow down slightly to let the car merge and to regain that red-light stopping space again since now there is a 3rd car in the lane. You slow down to regain that stopping space, because we drivers know very well that there won't always be a football field long space to merge a car into

I simply always leave enough space for a motorcycle and a car to merge at the same time.
