well they messed up the movie

They were an extremely popular series of books. I was like 7 at the time and didn't bother, but id heard they were very good.

Ok I've never heard of that, I know they made a movie but like most things I had no interest or time to check into it.

The movie was terrible.

the movie was 3/13 books smushed together into one movie so... yes. Even from those 3 books lots was left out

I don't know, man. I thought that the movie was great. It deviated from the books, but it's a fine standalone. Sometimes movies are better if they deviate from the books, and maybe the writers thought that it would work best like that. Like, have you read the original HTTYD books? Literally the only similarity between the books and the movies are the names. And they're both great as standalones.
