nah, dude, you're getting confused. American mothers are legally required to sing the national anthem every night while their babies are in the womb and until age 2.
My mother loved me so much she sang it to me till I was 7

Once upon a time in typical land. A fat white man holding a bottle of beer in front of a cash register at McDonald's. With a black person at the cashier with a bald eagle on her shoulder. The door in the background being opened by Uncle Sam. With a rebellious teen walking by the McDonald's play land with his middle fingers up. Then a typical blonde girl with Starbucks and her iPhone with ugg boots on leggings and a gray shirt with her hair in a bun sitting in the booth. Then a black guy walking around saying F**CK DA POLICE. This story is based on a freeze frame in my mind.
The uk is england, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland- if you're English you say you're from England, welsh you say you're from Wales and so on. But all are the uk as well...
1. i believe most people call america united states or USA. For other people america is the continent.
2. Why we don't call countries by their name. We don't change names for other languages. It's their name.
U are right. And we'll get hate for this. Nothing against america the country, but yes it's the continent, you are right. Officially the country is united states of america. everyonE here in the country calls it America. And many get defensive and mad if correct it. I love America (country) but to most people in the world there's a difference.
I'm guessing you guys are from a Spanish country? For most of the world North and South America are separate continents. Also, by the logic you are using Australia isn't isn't a country either.
Why will Australia not be a country!!?? Oceania is the continent (sometimes called Australia yes) but i'm not saying It's not a country. Yes, I'm from a "Spanish" country, well actually latin/ south America. And yes we (and other countries) call America the whole continent because it is what we learn in geography. And I'm aware there's north and south America. Like I said America is the name of the whole continent..there's 6 But sometimes (and most recently) divided as 7. I'm not saying it's wrong to call it America, but some people forget these facts and that the actual official name is US of A. Trying to clarify because we are talking here about how people call it vs how the name themselves.
The logic you're using seems to be that because the continent us called "x" the country the country can't be called "x" hence the comparison to Australia.
For most of the world there are seven continents, not six, with only really Spain and Latin America calling the Americas a single continent.
On what grounds are you correcting anyone?
I'm not correcting anyone. I said name of country (afain, officially) is US of A. we are used to called it america. There's an American continent. The division of north and south is relatively recent u may say....that's it. Thats what the confusion I think comes from. In Spanish yeah we say estados unidos more frequently.
Chill.
In Noway, we think of America as a continent too. However, we call North America just America and then South America is called South America. So 7 continents, and America is one of them. America is not a country.
I'm sorry but that's not politically correct :/ it;s actually AMUUURRRCIIIAAAAAAAAA AW HELL YEAH TASTE MY FREEDOMMMMMMMMM I AM THE GOD COUNTRY #SWAG WE WILL KILL ALL ENGLAND SUCCCKKKKKKKKKKKKSSSSSSSSSSSS YOU WILL ALLL BOWW BEFORE AMUUURICCCAAAAAAAA but thanks for trying to get our country name right
