In the Army (US) we had quarterly classes on Sexual Harassment and Sexual Assault. They found that 1 in every 3 incidents was perpetrated by a woman on a man and yet only 2-8% of the men actually reported the incident. So about 92% of the men that were harassed or assaulted reported, this is sadly a good indicator of what occurs in the general populace. There are all kinds of videos on Youtube where actors played out assault or abuse scenarios in public and while people stepped in on the man attacking a women they almost universally ignored or laughed when the man was being abused.
I knew a woman that would hurt herself, take pictures, then call the cops and say her husband beat her. Things like this get so out of control, and usually the authorities take the woman's side.
There is a difference in the severity. A punch from a women is usually much less harmful then one from a man. Though men still need to come forward. Abuse is abuse.
My dad was a victim of abuse from my mom, but he never admits it because people treat him like a wimp when they find out. He loved her and didn't want to hit her back.
They basically say: "Well there are also cases of rape which, we guess, count, but [a made up percentage] of women were both raped and abused so let's, like, not double count that because the emotional trauma that comes with rape and abuse is like almost the same thing, so like whatever."
Besides, the title is "More men than women are victims of abuse by their partners", but except one where it's slightly above a half, none of the statistics go above 45% for men.
I agree that we should focus on cases of violence against both genders, and that it's true that some help lines help only women which is very biased, but the title of the article is very misleading, and even the author says that just statistics aren't always an accurate source as they differ a lot. We should also focus on the intensity and methods of abuse, on which the article focuses only slightly. Besides, CDC also released an infographic that says something else.

I'm guessing you haven't actually looked into this matter at all. Nothing about this post is "attacking" women but instead is spreading the truth that men can and are being victimized by women. You need to ask yourself if you are just reflexively reacting or if you actually believe what you said. If it's the first then maybe you should consider what your response would have been if this post was about women being abused and the fact that men have just as much of a right to help as women. If it's the second, I seriously think you should spend a bit of time researching the subject.
This is a lie. These statistics are made up. Also sorry us women keep getting bashed up and killed by guys then getting upset. What should really be focusing on is how all you guys are getting hit.....couldn't not focus on a guys needs 24/7, god forbid. Oh by the way, 2 women have died every week in Australia due to male abuse and violence......men killed by women.....0.......
*epic tap dance*
sooner or later I'm greater than you
