People can really pick and choose what they want to have faith in. There are some Christians who actually do good things and go out and do stuff. And there are bad ones like Westboro. Same with pretty much every religion. Yes, there are things you don't agree with, but it's peoples beliefs and they don't always believe it just because others do.

Really, despite religious centers being the ONLY institutes of higher learning for hundreds of years you think religion somehow slowed down human progress?

If none of this happened the world as we know it wouldn't be as it is today. For better or worse. But holding that against today's Christians is like holding slavery against white people. Not all of them did it, and the ones today aren't the same ones.
The only thing we can do now is keep moving forward or we'll go nowhere.

I myself am a Christian. And I will honestly say that there are a lot of assholes in my religion. A lot of racist, homopohbic, biased, little fuck wads who have their heads shoved so far up their ass that they can see their own stomach.

However! There is so many flaws in their assholish beliefs that make me desire to hit them on the head with a Bible so they can get it through their thick skulls that Jesus didn't want us to hate, but to love.

They're getting most of their stuff from the Old Testament. Which when Jesus died on the cross we believe we were freed from the Old Testament laws.

it's beyond me, i know someone that claims they are a church going christian, yet she is the most hateful person i have ever met, abusive, violent, she tried to cut my throat with a knife, has gone as far as to threaten to kill a 3 year old boy out of jealousy. believes it's acceptable to damage someone else's property as it's not yours (when renting), but she claims she's a good person.
i did, the guest that continually leaves rude and abusive comments is her, she can't help herself, she was arrested for domestic violence, but as you can see, she's not responsible according to her

I agree, completely. To add: What if I told you being an atheist does not automatically make one intelligent, either? There are 'bad apples' in all factions and groups, just as there are shining gems. Sometimes, it's better to evaluate an individual more than his group.

Thank you for explaining that, in my area we mainly have Catholics, Baptists, or Muslims. So I don't really know much about others. I've seen a Jehovah's Witness like once but that was it.
I think it's the thing about the multiple wives that turns people off and the coming to your door to talk about their religion with you but even I know that the whole multiple wives thing is pretty much gone now but the door to door people are usually just guys doing their missions
