Studies actually showed that bullies don't bully because of internal conflicts. Most of the time it was because they're just shits.

He has a point though. We're put too much effort into teaching good behavior as opposed to standing up for yourself. Admittedly, good behavior is something that needs to be taught but we must recognize that some people are simply mean spirited, and there's not much a teacher can do to knock that out of a kid.
