Okay, so in previous years Starbucks holiday cups had holiday-like designs on them. This year it is a minimalist red cup.
A few, and I mean literally just like 2 or 3, people made videos complaining about the cup. The conservative media RAN with this story about how this was an "attack on Christmas" and "an attack on Christians" and how "Christian groups were outraged" when in reality the only people they could ever cite as being outraged were the same 2, or 3, people everytime.
So really only 2 or 3 people are complaining about it, and the rest of the world is complaining about those 2, or 3, people, imagining them to number in the hundreds that are outraged over the cup.
It is the single most idiotic event I remember of 2015.
Supposedly there are a bunch of Christians who are all peeved about these red cups. As a Christian, I don't understand why, and I haven't met another Christian who is.
Honestly, I think this is a little suspicious and it may just be a marketing strategy by Starbucks.
I mean, if you can get a bunch of people who claim to be offended Christians, then you get people to support you who arn't Christian, and Christians to support you to show they aren't like those others. And then, as a bonus, more and more people are talking about your product all across social media.
I'm not one for conspiracy theories, but I do have a degree in marketing. If my theory is correct, this is the best marketing I've ever seen in my life.

Don't try and understand. It's bullshit.
