I don't support this because I am against hunting (which I'm not), but on the principle that if something's trying to kill you, you should have every right to mangle and shred and stomp and shatter their body (human, animal, alien, or otherwise).
Actually it does. Humans are complex creatures capable of understanding what is right and wrong. Animals are not. When he was hunting that elephant, he knew exactly what he was doing- he knew it was wrong, and he also knew the risks of doing so. The elephant on the other hand was simply acting out of instinct- trying to survive. Pretty big difference. So it's understandable to have sympathy for the elephant but not the guy.
Your subjective view of right and wrong has no bearing here. You think it was wrong, other people don't. I'm not saying what the elephant did was wrong because you're right it was instinctual, but you lack humanity if you think this guy got what was coming to him.
It's amazing to see just how many people think a human life is worthless. Yeah, it's a bad thing that he was hunting the elephant, but he doesn't deserve to die for it.
If you're chasing/hunting a wild animal, you should be full aware of the potential consequences. And if you get hurt/killed while doing something as stupid and reckless as this man, then I do not feel sorry for you.
Murder is not a sport.
I'm pretty sure the hunter disagrees with your opinion of hunting.
