This is the guy that The Chive Charities raised some money for to put towards a house. They were hoping to raise 20-30k when they launched the campain...
.
They actually wound up raising somewhere around 250-300k, buying the house outright and furnishing it as well.
The thing that offends me the most about the "big VA scandal" that broke last year was that everyone acted so surprised by it.
It's like, come on people, do you not pay attention? Do you not listen to your veterans? This is nothing new. In the US, the mistreatment of veterans is a time honored tradition that is as old as this nation itself, it dates all the way back to the Revolutionary War.
But you know what? We will keep signing up. We never do thinking that we will be taken care of well... we it do for a job, for an escape and service to the nation.
This is amazing. I have so much respect for the people who serve our country, as well as their families. It takes guts. A lot of people say they could do it, no problem, but when it all comes down to it, it's not that simple. This man has sacrificed more with that one battle than I will my entire life, and it's because of him that I won't have too, and for that, I am grateful.
Thank you to everyone out there that has served or is currently serving, and thank you to their families for giving up so much so we can have our freedom.
That right there is a cool couple!!! It's sad that he lost his limbs, and I'm sure he'd rather have his real limbs, but he could dress up as Robocop, or go to career day at his kid's school as a robotic soldier. :D
