We don't normally wear shoes, we just wear flip flops at home or if we're going to get grocery or something.
I only wear shoes if I'm going somewhere .
I grew up our shoes were somewhere near the front door and we took them off once home unless we are just coming in for a minute. As a kid I went bare foot even outside. We only put on our shoes if we were going some where, where we will be going inside. Or going to somewhere where we might get out the car. My shoes outlasted the rest of my friends shoes. My husband was raised shoes on everywhere you go except to shower or go to bed. but now he is like me lol.
In my house growing up we wore shoes all the time. Once I got with my husband who is Asian he did not allow shoes. Felt weird being barefoot so I bought house shoes.
Shoes in my house. Actually, in 34 years I've never had a run in with a no-shoes house. That's kind of weird to me, I think if anybody wanted me to take off my shoes I'd probably get awkward and come up with an excuse to leave.
Yes..it's common but a lot of people are starting the practice of asking people to remove their shoes. If they do that, I think they should have slippers or socks for them to wear. I have a friend who has very cold feet and she hates it when someone ask her to take off her shoes. I have lament flooring so I don't care one way or another even when I did have carpet. I'm not going to impose that on my guest that may be uncomfortable with the practice.
Asian Americans tend not to. I only wear my shoes in the house if its not my house. If I'm at home I wear slippers which is kinda the same thing I guess, but more comfortable.
I wear shoes in my house. I ask if I'm going to someone else's, or if I see their shoes lined up by the entrance/hallway I assume and go ahead deshoe-ing myself :)
There are a rare few who have a no-shoe policy.
