Dude, I had skyrim on Xbox 360 played over 500 hr, then it came out on Xbox one and I thought, "that's ridiculous, I already played it I'm totally not gonna." I own it, and I'm back at it again... I am skyrim at this point.
About 2 years ago, I bought skyrim for sale for something like $15-$23 on a steam weekend sale, and I've played maybe 100 to 110 hours, pretty good value price/hours played. Gotta love steam sales!

If I had a dollar for every hour I played Skyrim, I would have enough to build a high end PC
I estimate that I'm willing to pay 2-3 dollars for an hour of gaming entertainment. I think it's a personal decision as to how much your willing to pay, and it can even fluxuate depending on what kind of entertainment it is. Movie? Well, maybe I'll pay 5 dollars an hour, game 2-3 dollars, music I don't pay for that shit son.
Eh, A dollar per hour is a reasonable amount for some (Skyrimesque) games, but the real reason you would pay 60-80 bucks a game is if you enjoy playing it.
I try to put twice of time in than the amount of money I spent. Currently playing FF15 and I have about 25 hours on it

I actually disagree to an extent. I don't guage quality by how many hours i put into it, but rather how much fun I got from it or what kind of emotional response it gave me. There are games like The Sims that I've put hundreds of hours into but feel that the initial $60 asking price was insanely steep for being what amounts to a casual time-killer type game. I've played Indie games with more depth for less than a third of the price. Likewise, any action/adventure game like Uncharted that takes maybe 5-10 hours to complete in one sitting I would pay full price for any day because the experience felt like it was worth it. Not to say that the statement here is invalid, we all want different things, this is just me personally.
nah thats great of course but honestly if you think about how much you pay for a movie or some other type of entertainment I would consider a trade of 5 dollars an hour more than fair if those five hours are engaging. It all depends on the experience you are looking for and how much you get out of any particular game.
But then I buy used games if I can. Unless it's one of those games that require some sort of access code.
I like monster hunter :D
